Emperor Akbar was regular visitor to This holy City during 1561–1568. He prayed here in 1570 for a son. On the birth of Jahangir, he performed his pilgrimage from Agra to Ajmer barefoot in thanksgiving. Daily Rituals & Spiritual Practices
Dargah shares a daily routine chock-full of ceremonies that actually link the followers direct to Khwaja Sahib. The Fajr prayers and opening of the gates start the day as part of Morning Khidmat when the tomb is washed with rose water and fresh chadar is presented.
This is a very precious moment and a distant dream for many of the devotees to have a darshan of this happening once in their lifetime.
Evening sees the shrine’s illumination for Roshni Dua, a special evening prayer held after sunset.
The courtyard is illuminated by thousands of diyas (lamps) and candles which represent the divine light. On Fridays and during Urs, the Jannati Darwaza (Gate of Paradise) is opened, it is said that those who pass through will be rewarded in the life hereafter.
