Ajmer Sharif Timings in Winter and Summer
Ajmer Sharif Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti is a place worth visiting and pilgrims from all over the country throng the shrine at any time of the year. Dargah opening and closing times are little bit different between winter and summer:
Winter Hours: 5 a.m. Gates close at approximately 9 p.m.
Summer Schedule: Gate Opens At 4:00 AM – Locks At 10:00 PM
Also note that the gates remain closed to all visitors after 10 PM and before 5 AM. However, followers can sit inside the Dargah compound other than main Mazaar.
Ajmer Dargah Daily Time Table
Daily, some holy tasks are done by the Khuddam (servants) of Hazrat Khwaja Garib Nawaz (R.A.) such as Khidmat, Langar, Sama Qawwali and Quran-Sharif Recital.
Khidmat at Ajmer Dargah
Morning Khidmat (5:00 AM – 6:00 AM)
One such Khidmat is before Fajr namaz, which happens early in the morning. The main door of the tomb is opened at this time with Azaan. Only Khadims are permitted inside to perform the Khidmat of cleaning the Mazar and laying fresh flowers.
Afternoon Khidmat (3:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
The second Khidmat is at noon. Pilgrims are now allowed inside Tomb (ladies excepted). As part of the ritual, the Khadims pronounced Fateha and offered sandal wood which is then distributed among devotees in a form of tabaruk.
Roshni Dua Ceremony at Ajmer Sharif (6:00 PM)
The sacred act of Roshni (lighting) is held 15 minutes prior to the evening prayer. Khuddam when entering the Roza bring candles with dhol playing in background. Persian couplets are intoned as the candles are placed in the lamps, which are afterwards lighted at the four corners of the sacred tomb.

Karka – Closing Ceremony of Ajmer Sharif Dargah
The closure event, called Karka, is held after the Isha prayer. About 20 minutes before closing, zayereen are asked to clear away from the tomb. The shrine is cleaned by the khadims next, before they chorus with Karka. When the song concludes, the main gates to the tomb are closed for the night.
Milad and Quran Recital at Ajmer Dargah
There is a complete recitation of the Holy Quran at Jama Masjid and Alamgir Masjid situated within the Dargah campus everyday. Milad Mehfils are also organized with regular intervals preaching the message of love and peace of Khwaja Garib Nawaz (R.A.).

Best Time to Visit Ajmer Sharif Dargah
This shrine can be visited by devotees round the year. But the right time to feel the spirit of it is in Khidmat rituals, Roshni Dua during the evening and the yearly Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Khwaja Garib Nawaz (R.A.).
