Timing to visit to Ajmer Sharif is approximately 5:00 AM. From that point until well into the evening, the shrine comes alive with the constantly overlapping sounds of ritual accoutrements, prayers and incantations. Timings for key

  • Khidmat —Morning: 5:00–6 AM

  • Afternoon: 3:00–4 PM

  • Roshni Dua: At sunset, generally around 6 PM

  • Closing: Night, after rituals have taken place

And at every single act is done with adherence as the everyday cycle of devotion remains uninterrupted. For over eight centuries, these timings have been respected, a testament of dedication.

Deg, Niyaz, and Langar Rasam

One of the most well known traditions that is performed at the shrine is that of Deg. The Badi Deg and Choti Deg are huge cauldrons that prepare food for the pilgrim as part of his/her mannat (wish).

There are also some contributions by suave Pilgrims through Deg offerings. The food prepared is then given out as langar or niyaz, to everyone who comes, without any discrimination of caste, creed, or religion. It is a continuation of the teachings of equality and service of Khwaja Garib Nawaz.

Gaddi Nasheen organizes the niyaz food and langar meals throughout the year. This is to ensure that the spirit of generosity that had existed during the period of Khwaja Garib Nawaz continues to exist.

Chadar Offerings at the Shrine

A Chadar at the Dargah is very symbolic in nature. Devotees dispatch chadars wrapped in flowers, silk or embroidery from workplaces the world over, and the Khadims lay them on the shrine.

This practice reflects the essence of a devotee seeking for blessings in health, success and peace; which in turn depicts humbleness of a human. Every chadar is brought forth with sincerity and prayers under the direction of Syed Fakhar Nawaz Chishty.

Charity and Social Service

The Dargah is not only a place of prayer but also a hub of charity. Through the Mere Khwaja Foundation, the Gaddi Nasheen Ajmer Sharif carry out initiatives such as:

  • Arranging food for the poor throughout the year.

  • Distributing clothes, blankets, and essentials during winter.

  • Providing help to pilgrims who travel long distances for Urs Ajmer Sharif.

  • Supporting students, families, and the underprivileged with donations.

The tradition of Ajmer Sharif charity is not new — it has been a part of the Khadims’ duties for centuries, and today Syed Fakhar Nawaz Chishty continues this legacy with dedication.
